Born in Cornwall, Sonia Barton draws inspiration from memories of a frequently changing childhood, experiences that continue to shape Sonia Barton’s still life paintings. Working with muted colour palettes, flattened perspectives and subtle distortions of everyday objects, Sonia Barton creates compositions that explore form, texture and memory. Objects are often repositioned across the canvas, leaving traces through embossed textures, etched lines and layered surfaces.
A strong sense of time and movement runs throughout Sonia Barton’s work. Paint is applied and reworked using brushes, palette knives, rollers and rags, with layers gradually built up and scraped back to reveal hidden marks and textures. Influenced by weathered coastal environments and aged interiors, Sonia Barton’s paintings capture quiet observations and reflections from everyday life.
Sonia Barton graduated in Fine Art from Staffordshire University and later completed postgraduate studies at University of Brighton. Sonia Barton now exhibits regularly throughout the United Kingdom, with works held in private collections worldwide.
The delivery of artworks is typically within 10 working days. INTERNATIONAL IMPORT DUTIES AND TAXES
Please note that if you are an international customer then your delivery may be liable to import Duties and Taxes. These charges where applicable are payable when the shipment reaches the country of destination. All import duties and taxes are payable by you the customer. Refunds are made on receipt of the artwork by ourselves provided that it is returned in its original condition and packaging. The fourteen day guarantee period commences from the date that you are in receipt of the artwork.
