Apple and Bloom by Ann Armitage
Ann Armitage is a British contemporary painter best known for her still life paintings, works that are quiet, thoughtful, and carefully composed, with a strong focus on form, space, colour and balance.
Born in Huddersfield in 1959, Ann Armitage trained as a painter at Canterbury College of Art and Design, graduating in 1987. Ann first established her practice in a rented studio in Faversham before settling in London, where for sixteen years she painted from Parade Mews in Tulse Hill.Ann Armitage’s work gained steady national recognition during this period, appearing frequently in prestigious open exhibitions including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and shows at the Mall Galleries with the Discerning Eye, the New English Art Club, the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
