Acclaimed British Artist Beckie Reed to Present New Solo Exhibition ‘Solace’ at The Rutland Gallery
The Rutland Gallery in Uppingham, Rutland, is delighted to announce Solace, a major new solo exhibition by acclaimed British artist Beckie Reed, opening on Saturday 3rd October 2026.
Running from Saturday 3rd October to Saturday 17th October 2026, Solace will be Beckie Reed’s first solo exhibition at The Rutland Gallery, bringing together twenty brand-new landscape paintings created especially for the exhibition.

Best known for her distinctive and expressive paintings of trees and treescapes, Beckie Reed has developed a highly recognisable visual language in which vibrant colour, energetic composition and richly textured mark-making combine to create atmospheric and evocative landscapes. In Solace, Reed continues her longstanding fascination with trees, exploring their presence within the landscape and their ability to evoke a powerful sense of place, memory and emotion.
Rather than simply depicting the appearance of nature, Reed’s paintings capture the atmosphere and emotional character of the landscape. Her bold use of colour and expressive brushwork transform familiar woodland scenes and treescapes into paintings that feel both immediate and dreamlike, inviting the viewer to pause, look more closely and experience the landscape in a different way.
The title Solace reflects the quiet emotional quality that lies at the heart of this new body of work. Trees have long been central to Reed’s paintings, and her latest works explore the enduring relationship between people and the natural world. Through layered paint, dynamic compositions and a distinctive combination of abstraction and representation, Reed creates landscapes that are contemporary, vibrant and deeply atmospheric.
The exhibition represents an important opportunity to see twenty new Beckie Reed paintings together in one exhibition, offering collectors and visitors an insight into the latest development of her highly sought-after landscape painting.
Beckie Reed will be attending the exhibition preview on Saturday 3rd October from 2pm to 4pm, providing visitors and collectors with an opportunity to meet the artist and discuss the new collection.
