Artist’s Statement
During the Summer I began experimenting with mediterranean colours. In this painting I have combined my mediterranean palette with wintery tones. My main focus for this painting was the perception of light. I aimed for it to look like a light was being shone brightly through the back of the canvas, lighting up different parts and altering the perception of colour. As with my painting 'Cascade', this is also a mixed media piece where I have used a range of materials for different effects such as salt, coffee grains and acrylic paint.
