Bridget Lansley
Bridget Lansley’s path to becoming an artist was shaped by both her family and professional experience. Although Bridget grew up in an artistic household, her early career began in publishing, where her exposure to the wider art world deepened her own creative drive. This passion eventually led her to study 20th century art with Robin Child before committing fully to painting.
Bridget Lansley’s work encompasses still life, floral studies, and figurative compositions, each marked by a strong narrative presence. Particularly renowned are her evocative shooting scenes, inspired by her love of Scotland and its traditions.
Bridget Lansley’s paintings are distinguished by their clarity of structure and sensitivity to colour. She simplifies complex arrangements into bold, balanced forms, overlaying them with an expressive energy of line. Subtle, muted tones are punctuated with vivid flashes of colour, creating works that are both harmonious and alive.
Bridget Lansley’s ability to distil the essence of a subject gives her paintings an immediacy that resonates with viewers. They feel at once personal and universal, transporting us into moments and places that feel both remembered and newly discovered.
