Ann Oram RSW

Ann Oram RSW is one of the UK’s most popular and successful artists. Born in London in 1956 she studied at Edinburgh College of Art between 1976 and 1982. She became a part-time lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art between 1983 and 1985, and again in 1991 to 1993. Ann Oram was elected to the Royal Society of Watercolour Artists (RSW) in 1986. Following that, Ann was a visiting lecturer at the University of Northumbria in 1988.

Following Ann Oram’s graduation from Edinburgh College of Art, her artistic journey led her to France and Italy on a post-graduate year and an Andrew Grant Scholarship to New York before returning to ECA to lecture in the Painting School, a remarkable achievement considering her age.

Having lived and worked abroad for many years, Ann Oram draws inspiration from her extensive travels, which contribute to the vibrancy and freshness of her work. Ann resided in Southern Spain during the 1980s and later spent significant time in Vienna before returning to Scotland, where she now resides in the picturesque Borders with her husband.

Renowned for her masterful use of colour, Ann Orams's artwork graces galleries across the UK, including prominent locations in London and Edinburgh. Her work is held in high regard by both prestigious corporate collections and discerning private collectors, both domestically and internationally.
