The Old House Gallery has been in the corner of Oakham's Market Place for over thirty years, and Potter/Proprietor Richard Clarke is the third generation of his family to be trading in this historic and unique market town, situated near to Rutland water.
The Gallery deals in original works which are carefully chosen to reflect Richard's keen interest in the contemporary Art and Craft movement.
Many of the artists and craftsmen represented are unique to the gallery, giving a feel of individual originality, with work coming from 'the local scene' and also from across the UK including works from Southern Ireland.
Richard also runs a successful framing business, and is recognised across the country as one of the framing industries leading experts. He has been a regular columnist for the Picture Business magazine, has served as branch master of the 'Fine Art Trade Guild' and has taught and demonstrated aspects of framing in the U.K., Southern Ireland, Europe, China and the U.S.A.
